Lisa Ruckh / Founder / Designer

bio_picLisa Ruckh was born in Pasadena, Calif., a city known for a quietly elegant atmosphere and artistic tone. At age five, she and her family moved to Japan and later Singapore when her father, who worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, was stationed in the Far East. The family extended their time abroad by traveling all over the world before returning to the States. “From age five to seven-and-a half, I was in contact with many different cultures, which was an amazing experience,” Lisa notes. “This is the time of life when a child is opening their eyes to the world and soaking up information like a sponge. I believe this had a profound influence on me both artistically and personally.”
Lisa became a fitness instructor at age 16 when she was still in high school. Later, her artistic inclinations led her to become a celebrity and fashion makeup artist, weaving the two professions together to create a balanced and satisfying life. Throughout her career, Lisa has styled A-list celebrities including Charlize Theron, Jessica Simpson, Jenny McCarthy, Daryl Hannah, and top-tier music talent such as Ludacris, Black Eyed Peas and Linkin Park, among others. Lisa’s experience working closely with these varied personalities of Hollywood definitely played a role in shaping the loudnclearla collection.
“The ‘loud and clear’ concept has been with me for many years and now it has finally come to fruition. I created the original ‘loudnclearla girls’ when I was 11 -- all my school notebooks and folders were covered with the drawings. These girls are archetypal characters based on women that everyone knows -- they are your sisters, your friends, your classmates, your co-workers, and girls that just make a lot of noise. I believe that every woman will discover a ‘loudnclearla girl’ that speaks to them.”

An admitted doodler, Lisa grew up creating images of stars, shapes, flowers, suns, and various other inspirations while sitting in class or talking on the phone. One day while doodling, a series of images spontaneously emerged as a result of how she was feeling about a recent relationship and voila! tales of the heart was born.
“I’ve been an artist my entire life; that’s how I express myself. The loudnclearla concept is ‘Art that speaks to you….loud and clear’. The idea came to me because I create pictures and these images effectively convey thoughts and emotions…sometimes better than words! Most artists speak through their work, but I believe anyone and everyone will be able to easily identify with these images via their own life experience.”
The loudnclearla clothing is only available online and through select boutique stores in the USA and Japan. These high quality t-shirts are not mass produced and are proudly created in the U.S.A.
